Simply Shocking (WOW Magazine - November 2000) by Tim 'The Tow Truck' Towe Pamela Paulshock expresses herself in WOW Magazine Admit it, guys, if Dan Rather of the "CBS Evening News" looked this good, you would be one of the most well-informed people on your block. Pamela Paulshock joined World Championship Wrestling in the spring of 2000 to give backstage interviews on Nitro and pay-per-view broadcasts. Read on to find out more about this beautiful (and yes, single) cub reporter. Q: You have been with WCW since May, but let's talk about your backgroaud and what got you to WCW. What were you doing before this? A: I'm originally from Baltimore and went to Syracuse University. I graduated and went out to Los Angeles to become an actress. I've been out there for about three years, and I'm doing tons of television and film and kind of fell into WCW. Q: Would we know you from any projects in paricular? A: I've done things for "Beverly Hills 90210," "VIP," "Shasta McNasty" and "The Parkers." Q: What did you study at Syracuse? A: I graduated with a degree in interior design. Q: Were you a wrestling ran before all of this? What brought you to WCW specifically? A: I used to, believe it or not, see all of the wrestling matches while in high school in Baltimore. But I kind of stopped for a while and never really got back into it after that. A while back, I was with the New World Order [nWo] as one of the group's girls for about three months. [WCW offiicials] told me they were going to break up the nWo, and asked me if I wanted to continue. I told them I would rather do something else since I want to be an actress. I told them to call me if they have an opening, and they did. They called me back, and I have been here for a little while now. Q: How would you describe your time in WCW so Far? A: Interesting and a lot of fun! I've been trying to get to know all the wrestlers and their many personalities. I came into this cold turkey, and it was intimidating at first. But I'm watching and reading about the matches. Things change and partners change so quickly, it's like a soap opera! Everyone has been very helpful and willing to help me out. Q: Who was your favorite wrestler when you were a kid going to the matches? A: My favorite was Lex Luger. He was really cute. He was the new, big, buff guy. Q: What's WCW plannming on doing with you? Do you just appear on the pay-per-views and Nitro broadcasts? A: They are going to keep developing my character as an interviewer, letting people know who I am. I'lI be staying on pay-per-views and definitely every Nitro. Q: You say your character is an interviewer and journalist. How far is that front the real you? A: Anything you do when acting, you put a little bit of your own personality in it. There's definitely a little bit of me in it. I guess I can be a little pushy sometimes. Q: What was the one thing that surprised you about WCW when you started? A: I knew coming in that all of this stuff is predetermined. But in all honesty, these guys are real athletes. They put their bodies on the line every night they perform. It's a sport with real injuries, and they happen all of the time. I don't think the fans realize that, and as a result wrestlers don't get as much credit as they deserve. Q: Would you consider serving as a valet like Trish Stratus of the Wortd Wreslling Federation? A: I like trying new things. I wouldn't rule it out completely, but I'm having fun doing this for now. Q. Who would be the top two or three guys you would love to valet for? A: It's hard, because I am still getting to know all of them. But Lex Luger would definitely be one. Q: Who would be one of tne contemporary wrestlers? A: Some of these guys are alreadv taken. They have such different personalities. Buff [Bagwell] is cool. Buff has all the right stuff, so I'd have to say him, right? Q: Hew old we you? A: (Laughing) 20-something. Q: Do you have a boyfriend? A: I'm single, never been married. That seems to be the question lately! Q: Is it possible to have a steady boyfriend with your schedule? A: I don't know that anyone would put up with me right now, because I am always on the road and doing my acting all of the time. I am going to San Juan, Puerto Rico, shooting there for a week, then back to WCW I don't know who would put up with me, but I'd love to have a boyfriend. Q: Wbat's tbe photo shoot for? A: It's a photo shoot for Coors, and they actually made my bikini out of Coors bottle caps. It should be interesting. Q: What's a typical day like for you? A: I normally get up pretty early, though I love to sleep in especiallv when it rains, which is not often in Los Angeles. Then I feed my cat, Fendi. Q: Wby is that the cat's Rame? A: I like three designers: Chanel, Louis and Fendi. He was too little to tell what sex he was, so I named him Fendi, thinking it was a gender neutral name. Q: So you feed your cat, then what? A: Then I make my coffee, stretch, like yoga, maybe go workout. I like to run on the beach or go for a hike, answer my messages, go on casting calls - business stuff. (Laughing) It's not real exciting, is it? Q: You said you want to be an actress. Who would be your perfoct leading man? A: There are so many of them. Mel [Gibson] would be fine to work with. I recently did a commercial with Dan Akroyd for FT.com. I am starting to meet a lot of people in the business. I love comedy - that's what I would love to do. Q: What kind or car do you drive? A: I drive a Toyota Supra Turbo. People underestimate it, which is kind of cool. It can go like 180 miles an hour, not that I've tried it out. Q: Let's talk about your place. Do you have a house, condo or what? A: House, no! I haven't been in the business that long. I live in an apartment. It's good for now. I think I will always live in L.A., but I wouldn't mind having another place, probably in Hawaii. Q: Now for all of the guys that are looking, besides Bill Apter, who would he your pertect or ideal man? A: The singer Sting. Q: You told me earlier you couldn't think of anyone you work with who you would want to date... A: It's really funny, because I really appreciate a nice body on a man. But when it comes down to it, I don't like guys who are completely in shape. I like guys who have a little bit of stockiness to them, like a teddy bear that you can snuggle up to. Q: Since you're into the guys who wear makeup, a guy like Bozo The Clown would be perfect then. Oh wait, that is tbe wrong Sting. A: I'm not into guys whose hair is longer than mine and who are into makeup. I like a guy who will take control and be sweet. I want it all, what can I say? He has to have a sense of humor, too. Q: What's your idea ot a pertect date? A: A guy that you have a good connection and chemistry with. It's all about chemistry. As long as there's chemistry, you can be doing anything. It's like you don't have to say a word. Q: The guys and girls who watch you would be really surprised to find out what about you? A: I have never eaten a steak or hamburger. It always seems to shock people. And I'm terrified of flying. Q: Do you have a web site? A: I do, it's www.pamelapaulshock.com.
